William Hunt Trilby Tour 2017

Watch out for our Steve Sayer on the big screen this year he has entered the Trilby Tour - the UK's Largest Amateur Golf Tournament  shown on Sky Sports. Steve will be accompanied by his son David as his caddie.

Steve Sayer edged to overall victory at Gedney Hill Golf Club’s 2017 Joint Captain’s Day event.

Ace Sayer topped the men’s side of the standings with a score of 43 points, which was enough to pip Craig Johnson (also with 43) into second place on countback.

Andy Davies took third position with an equally strong haul of 42 points, just one point off the pace.

In the ladies’ event, Marilyn Sayer (41 points) won by an impressive seven points.

Jackie Warlow took second place from Jenny Venters on countback after both scored 34 points.

Members of the Murrow Bell Golf Society took part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge at Gedney Hill GC on Friday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The eight players – Stefan Markillie, Leigh Bindley, Kieran Bates, Sam Kilby, Stephen Harrison, Ryan Wykes, Robert Hitchcock and Alex Markillie completed four rounds of golf in one day, raising in excess of £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Longest-Day-Golf-Challenge-2021

The yearly event took place with a large field of over 130 golfers participating, high and low handicappers alike playing together in a very enjoyable event.

 

The charity event kicked off with Kerr Page (PGA Professional) and Joe Timms taking the players' first tee shot, for a donation of £2 all helping towards the charity fundraising.

 

Also, an amount of £690 was donated by Robin and Lynn Exley 2021 Club Captain and Lady Captain, funds raised on their joint Captains’ Day.

 

The charities who will be receiving a share of the funds raised are : Peterborough Breast Care Unit

Walk the Walk

Prostate UK

East Anglian Air Ambulance.

 

Congratulations to Roz Upton our overall winner on the day.

 

Well done to Kim and Nick Markillie for a super successful event.
